Farewell Ray Harryhausen

My grandad introduced me to Ray Harryhausen when I was about 5 and I was obsessed with his films as a kid. His was the first filmmaker’s name I ever knew, and his work was the first thing that ever made me wonder about the process of making films.

His movies are a big part of why I grew up with such a love of film. I introduced my daughter to them when she was 3, we watched Clash of the Titans together and she was every bit as enthralled as I had ever been. At least 4 generations of my family have been huge fans of his films, not many film makers can claim to have that kind of spread.
